Since animal sightings aren\u2019t guaranteed, we love to check out the live web cams set up around the state, available online to anyone who wants to tune in. Whether you\u2019re having post-Alaska vacation withdrawals or getting amped up for your big trip, these animal cams are a great way to stay connected.<\/main><strong>Katmai National Park and Preserve bear cam<\/strong> \u2013 Katmai National Park is a dream destination for many, primarily for the chance to see brown bears fishing at Brooks Falls. Observers have noted seeing up to 25 bears fishing for salmon in the falls at once! If this trip doesn\u2019t fit into your Alaska itinerary, a great option is to tune into the live <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/katm\/learn\/photosmultimedia\/brown-bear-salmon-cam-brooks-falls.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">webcam<\/a> from late June through late July for views of the bears from all angles. You can even check out the bear cam\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/katm\/learn\/photosmultimedia\/bearcam-frequently-asked-questions.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">frequently asked questions<\/a> for the (almost) full experience of a guided tour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Round Island walrus cam<\/strong> &#8211; Round Island is located in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. It\u2019s about one tenth of a mile wide and is one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfg.alaska.gov\/index.cfm?adfg=walrusislands.main\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Walrus Islands State Game Sanctuaries<\/a>. Home to a healthy population of male walruses in the summer months (14,000 have been counted there in a single day), this <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.org\/live-cams\/player\/walrus-cam-round-island\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">camera<\/a> offers a clear and close-up view of these magnificent mammals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seward Harbor webcam<\/strong> \u2013 The Seward Harbor is a great place to explore, as you read off the creative and uniquely-named fishing boats while looking for sea life. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.majormarine.com\/about-us\/webcam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">camera<\/a> gives a constantly updated picture of the harbor, where known animal sightings include seals, sea otters and jellyfish!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alaska Zoo polar bear camera<\/strong> \u2013 While it may be extremely difficult to see a polar bear in the wild, you can always check in on Ahpun and Lyutiyik, two of the Alaska Zoo\u2019s biggest stars. The zoo\u2019s live <a href=\"http:\/\/alaskazoo.org\/live-polar-bear-camera\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">camera<\/a> updates every few seconds offering up-to-the-minute glimpses of the polar bears\u2019 activity. If you don\u2019t see them, it likely means they\u2019re under the water swimming or exploring another corner of their habitat.
