Optimizing software to deliver equitable healthcare at scale

TruLite’s innovative software, Truity™, tackles persistent issues of clinical bias that adversely affect patient outcomes in diverse populations. Digital connectivity technologies in building management systems will help reduce cost, waste, and downtime

Honeywell and Analog Devices, Inc. announced at CES 2024 that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the digitization of commercial buildings by upgrading to digital connectivity technologies without replacing existing wiring, which will help reduce cost, waste, and downtime. The strategic alliance would bring this new technology to building management systems for the first time.

Many of the commercial buildings in the United States are outdated and inefficient and, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the majority of them were built before the year 2000. Additionally, organizations are relying on networking technology to transmit ever-greater volumes of data, causing a surge in demand for cloud storage and processing speed. Digitizing building management systems will allow managers to reduce energy consumption through real-time decisions, while it will upgrade a building’s network performance and security to current Internet-protocol networks without extensive costs and remodeling.

Xaba Raises $ 2Million for Intelligent Self-Programming Robots in Manufacturing

Funding will enable Xaba to democratize robotic automation and drive sustainable manufacturing

Xaba, developer of the first AI-powered cognitive software solution to automate programming and deployment of robotics and CNC machines, announced it has raised US$2 million in a seed extension round of funding to bring to market AI-driven fabrication processes and intelligent autonomous machines. The funding round was led by BDC Capital’s Deep Tech Venture Fund with participation from Hitachi Ventures and existing investor Hazelview Ventures. The investment will be used to establish and staff a new robotics lab and accelerate the delivery of two Xaba manufacturing platforms.

Xaba is augmenting industrial robots and cobots with xCognition, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software solution. xCognition leverages innovative proprietary machine learning algorithms to model the elasto-mechanical-dynamic behavior of industrial robotics and cobots, as well as workpiece variances. This includes variances in location and shape, using proprietary rule-based language models to eliminate coding of robotics programs. xCognition solves the challenges of deploying industrial robots by completely automating how they are programmed and adopted. This solution not only increases accuracy, consistency, and throughput, but also significantly reduces the time and costs of robotics deployments.

Empowering the Future: A Groundbreaking Hub for Continuous Compatibility Testing in the EV Charging Landscape

IBM, Terbine and the American Center for Mobility (ACM) announced the establishment of an industry-wide open-source platform to provide interoperability testing for vehicle and charger manufacturers, charging network operators and others who make up the “EV Ecosystem.” The initiative’s goal is to eliminate many of the problems plaguing the electric vehicle charging landscape.

“It’s not enough to simply switch plug formats if we want EV charging to be as seamless and dependable as pumping gas has been for decades,” said Brenda Cucci, Senior Partner for Global Sustainability with IBM. “The industry needs a means to continually test all the elements involved with the ‘electron supply chain’ as software and hardware get updated, to ensure that consumers and commercial drivers have confidence in charging infrastructure. This is about accelerating the migration to zero-emission vehicles and the global reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,” Cucci continued.

The Interoperability Clearing House (ICH), developed by technology providers IBM and Terbine, will enable manufacturers of both vehicles and chargers to test their latest software at ACM’s main facility in Michigan as well as virtually. Leveraging state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, the platform is intended to bring ongoing cross-product testing to the EV industry and will be open to participants from around the globe.

A prevailing issue for EV drivers is synchronization errors caused by incompatibilities between the vehicles and the charging units. The problems multiply as more EV and charging unit models come onto the market.

Without Entera, handling 500 documents would consume 5000 minutes, equivalent to two working weeks. With the latest functionality, this processing time is condensed to two working days, allowing individuals to focus on more pivotal company tasks.

Furthermore, the software now includes features such as duplicate control and accurate final data recognition, factoring in discounts.
